The Tamillnadu Health Department reported that 188 people were infected in a single day yesterday. Coimbatore District Collector Rasamani has been inspecting the corona affected areas and intensifying preventive measures.
Two days ago, the district collector and the staff who worked with him were tested for COVID-19. District Collector Rasamani has been diagnosed with corona infection and has been having cold and cough. Following this, District Collector K. Rasamani was admitted to the KMCH Hospital on Avinashi Road for treatment.
Also the room used by the Collector and the camp office in the District Collector's Office were closed. The collector's family has been isolated and tested. Covid-19 test is also scheduled for officers who have been in contact with the collector.
All persons entering the Coimbatore District Collector's Office are allowed only after a physical examination. Corporation employees are currently engaged in the task of spraying disinfectant throughout the District Collector’s Office following the confirmation of corona infection to the District Collector.
